A USDOT number is a unique identifier FMCSA assigns to companies operating commercial vehicles. An MC (Motor Carrier) number is a separate operating-authority docket for for-hire interstate carriers. This site currently covers 13,000 active carriers; detailed profiles exist for 2,842 companies with complete, recently updated filings.
Insurance/authority filing history from the legacy FMCSA L&I system is historical only (records before 2026-05-14). Newer filings made in FMCSA Motus are not included. Verify current insurance on official FMCSA systems.
